Since the state of the world has us all “grounded”, we are bringing Tuscany to you!
In one of the oldest cellars in Italy, the first-ever Chianti wine was produced, and today as then, the magic of winemaking continues with passion and commitment. The structure of medieval origin, marked by the centuries and by the events of history dug into the earth, winds under the Villa Il Borro in a silent path, the path of winemaking: everything here is aimed at favoring the cycles of nature and transforming simple fruits into wine.
Il Borro has been a winery since 1993, with 45 hectares of vineyards and 40 of olive groves. Here we have done nothing but give life to the earth, so that it would repay us with its best fruits. Love for this land means above all respect. Renewable energy, use of natural fertilizers, absence of pesticides: every activity at Il Borro is carried out in the direction of sustainability and respecting the life cycles of the products and the territory.
Our vineyards grow on the Valdarno hills at the foot of Mount Pratomagno, enjoying a privileged position as regards the cultivation of the vine. Here unique pedoclimatic conditions allow us to give life to our wines. The mild winters, the humidity, and the excellent exposure of our vineyards are combined with a land geologically “marked” by the waters of the great lakes that covered the entire valley in the Pliocene period, characterized in appearance but above all in composition. The mother rock is sandstone or pietra forte, the basis of a medium-textured soil rich in skeleton, with a sandy clayey matrix. A poor land but ideal for the needs of the vine!
We are scheduling a Zoom with Salvatore Ferragamo CEO to hear him speak about the Il Borro wines in real-time.
We’ve selected three wines for your enjoyment and the total cost of the pack with three Repour winesavers is $85.

2019 Il Borro “Lamelle” IGT Toscana Bianco – $25
“Fruity and delightful on the palette, Lamelle is our youngest child, unique and exuberant and the only white amongst our wines. The climate and terroir at Il Borro would normally make producing white wine a challenge, but we always try to exceed expectations.”
Straw yellow-colored with a bouquet that discloses the typical aromas of the grape varietal. On the nose it is fresh with hints of yellow pulp fruits and floral scents. The taste is pleasantly fresh and fruity with a marked mineral note derived from a well-balanced acidity and a good sapidity.
2017 Il Borro “Pian di Nova” IGT Toscana Rosso – $25
75% Syrah, 25% Sangiovese
“A touch of conviviality, a friend with whom to share memorable moments. This is the natural place of Pian di Nova, a full-bodied wine marked by subtlety and softness. Generous on the palate from the first taste to the last, this is a wine that will amuse.”
“Pian di Nova” has an intense ruby red color. The bouquet is floral and intensely fruity with scents of black & red fruits, and hints of spice notes. The taste is smooth and full-bodied, with a pleasant freshness and an alcohol that mellows the tannins. The persistence is good, with a spicy and fruity finish. A well balanced and versatile wine that never tires the palate.
2016 Il Borro IGT Toscana Rosso – $40
50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah
“At Il Borro, we strive for perfection in our vineyards making wines that draw their inspiration from our precious terroir. By selecting only the finest grapes, we create wines of great depth and enduring satisfaction. Il Borro wines are like the firstborn child, well behaved and refined, wines which never disappoint.”
“Il Borro” has a deep violet color, with purplish reflections. The bouquet is full and intense, concentrated, with notes of underbrush and spice scents. The taste is dry with a good body and soft tannins, a good consistency, well-integrated and persistent.
