About Tres Sabores

​Nestled on the western Rutherford benchland of Napa Valley, Tres Sabores is a family-owned, woman-led winery dedicated to crafting wines that embody the essence of their terroir. Founded in 1999 by winemaker Julie Johnson, the name “Tres Sabores” translates to “three tastes,” reflecting the winery’s philosophy that every glass encompasses the flavors of the vine, the terroir, and the camaraderie around the table. The estate is a certified organic farm cultivating not only grape varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Petit Verdot but also pomegranates, Meyer lemons, and olives. This holistic approach fosters a vibrant ecosystem, including Guinea fowl and sheep, which contribute to the sustainability and vitality of the vineyard. ​

About Julie Johnson

Julie Johnson’s journey into winemaking is as rich and diverse as the wines she creates. A California native, Julie co-founded Frog’s Leap Winery in 1981 before establishing Tres Sabores. Her passion for wine and sustainable farming led her to create a winery that not only produces exceptional wines but also serves as a model for organic and regenerative agriculture. Julie’s commitment to the land and her craft is evident in every bottle, offering wine enthusiasts an authentic taste of Napa Valley’s unique terroir.
