VineVinu | Génese | Alvarinho | Monção & Melgaço | 2024
Aromatic and precise, with white peach, ripe citrus, white blossom, and a touch of stone fruit. The palate is round and beautifully textured — fresh acidity lifted by a subtle mineral thread and a long, clean finish that speaks unmistakably of mountain altitude.

Château Arnauld | Haut-Médoc | Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel | 2018
Deep ruby with violet glints and a nose of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry layered with cedar, licorice, and baking spice. Supple, precise tannins frame a palate of exceptional density and smoothness, finishing long with graphite-laced black fruit — a 2018 Haut-Médoc at the height of its expression.

VineVinu: Monção & Melgaço — Vinho Verde (Portugal)

VineVinu was founded during the 2024 harvest by father and son Luís and Manuel Cerdeira, both winemakers, driven by a shared enthusiasm to explore the full range of what Alvarinho can express across different terroirs. The project is rooted in legacy: Luís Cerdeira brings more than 30 years of experience, including responsibility for the Proving Chamber of CVR Vinhos Verdes and the international growth of family brand Soalheiro, one of Portugal’s iconic Alvarinho producers. Manuel, who graduated in viticulture and oenology in the United Kingdom in 2024, brings a modern global perspective shaped by experience in Alentejo, Chile, and Vinho Verde.

Alvarinho | Génese | 2024

Génese honors the Cerdeira family’s roots in Melgaço, in the mountains of the Monção and Melgaço sub-region — the terroir of excellence for the Alvarinho grape. Born from mountain slopes, this 100% Alvarinho reflects the purity of the terroir and the family legacy rooted in this granite-soiled, high-elevation landscape. The wine is made with slow fermentation in stainless steel, partial malolactic fermentation, and 20% aging in Mixtus barrels — vessels crafted from wood of mixed origin — a combination of tradition and innovation designed to express the purity of Alvarinho in full complexity. The result is a rounder, richer, fuller style of Alvarinho with more texture and weight than many, along with excellent aging potential. Tasting Notes: White peach, lemon zest, white blossom, fresh herbs, and mineral salinity with a long, textured finish.

Château Arnauld: Arcins, Haut-Médoc (Bordeaux, France)

Founded at the end of the 17th century, Château Arnauld takes its modern shape from a landmark decision in 2007, when two great experts of the terroir — Franck Bijon and Hubert de Boüard — identified the potential of a five-hectare parcel of characteristic Gunzian gravel along the Gironde’s edge. Bijon selected other exceptional parcels one by one to build an estate of 17.2 hectares of remarkable homogeneity, now classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. The estate sits between the communes of Arcins and Lamarque, just north of Margaux, where the river moderates the climate and the deep gravel soils push vines toward concentration and precision. Many who taste it see in Arnauld a potential new great name of the Médoc.

Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot–Petit Verdot | 2018

The 2018 growing season in Bordeaux was a study in redemption. A challenging wet spring brought significant mildew pressure to many estates, but conditions shifted dramatically into one of the longest, driest, and sunniest summers on record — with June through September all warmer than average and record levels of sunshine that fully ripened the fruit. The result is a vintage of richness, depth, and a uniqueness of character — sensuous and often exhilarating, with wines built to evolve for decades. For Arnauld, the 2018 stands as one of the estate’s finest — a deeply ruby red with violet glints, dark fruit aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry interwoven with licorice and baking spice, and a palate of superb density, remarkable smoothness, and rare precision in the tannin grain. Awarded 95 points and a Gold Medal at Decanter World Wine Awards 2021; 92 points from both James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast.
